Aramco Asia Korea signed an agreement today with Chuncheon Global Water Forum, a nonprofit social organization that specializes in the governance of freshwater-related issues within the framework of corporate social responsibility in Chuncheon, Gangwon province.

Through this cooperation, Aramco will introduce the concept of “water-energy-food nexus” and implement it as a new paradigm for a sustainable future.

“There is an increasing need for us to promote the use and protection of freshwater in consideration to climate change and rapid urbanization. And that is why we put forward the idea of a ‘water-energy-food nexus,’” said by Mr. Fahad A. Al-Sahali, representative director of Aramco Asia Korea Limited.

“I am very pleased that we have formed a partnership with the Chuncheon Global Water Forum to expand cooperation with stakeholders at various levels on sustainable development,” he added.

The cooperation creates a platform on which Aramco will work together with partners in managing resources -- particularly freshwater -- and making it accessible, sustainable, and affordable.
