Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Location: Seoul

Overview: Aramco Asia Korea is seeking Analytical Chemist who develops and performs full assessment on catalysts, products, and flow assurance chemicals using spectroscopy, chromatography and other analytical techniques on various solid and liquid matrixes of samples

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop testing protocols and conduct various analyses in laboratory using advanced and state-of-art analytical equipment.
  • Perform full assessment on catalysts, products, and flow assurance chemicals using spectroscopy, chromatography and other analytical techniques on various solid and liquid matrixes of samples.
  • Develop unconventional analytical methods and seek their accreditation to meet project and customers’ needs and quality.
  • Generate quality analytical data and reports to scientists and engineers to support technologies readiness and suitability for screening, qualification and scale up.
  • Conduct and customize testing methods as needed to meet some of the special projects.
  • Build relation and provide technical support to Joint Ventures and customers in refining/petrochemicals, as required.
  • Present and discuss results and data with concerned parties.
  • Provide technical guidance, work direction and training to others as needed.
  • Develop analytical methods to understand the chemical properties of oilfield chemicals and establish structure property relationships of oilfield chemicals in targeted products.
  • Conduct analysis of samples and interpret results from Rheometer, TGA, DSC, GC, GPC, HPLC, MALLS, EDX, XRD, ICP-MS, FT-IR, Raman, UV-Vis, NMR, Turbiscan, DLS, and Tensiometer etc.
  • Generate and issue professional reports and deliver oral presentations of the outcome of the studies.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of applicable state-of-the-art equipment pertinent to area of expertise.
  • Build and maintain the lab capabilities with analytical equipment and tools.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties as requested.
 

Academic/Professional Qualification:

  • PhD Degree in Analytical Chemistry particularly in organic polymers and catalysts characterization and testing techniques.
 

Technical Skills Required:

  • Must have the ability and flexibility to work independently or a part of a team.
  • Hands-on expertise in analytical characterization and testing for polymers and catalysts, and chemicals.
  • Good background/knowledge in synthesis required for the design and testing of catalysts chemicals, and polymeric compounds.
  • Excellent problem solving, laboratory skills and proactive attitude for prompt response to technical challenges.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English.
 

Experience:

  • More than 5 years of relevant research experience

 

Personality:

  • Good team player, interpersonal and communication skills
