Aramco Korea was recognized by the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Hope Bridge) for its contribution of KRW 1 billion (approximately USD 0.84 millions) to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The March 2020 donation has been utilized for a range of relief efforts undertaken by Hope Bridge, including support for frontline medical workers; providing emergency food vouchers to affected individuals; distributing hand-sanitizing wipes to 20,000 school classes; and delivering hand sanitizer to over 2,000 welfare facilities across the country.

At the plaque presentation ceremony held at Hope Bridge's headquarters in Seoul, Pil-ho Song, Hope Bridge's Chairperson, said: “We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Aramco Korea's support to overcome the COVID-19 crisis in Korea, particularly when all of us are going through difficult times. Aramco Korea's support has indeed been a much-needed help for healthcare workers and those who have been affected by the virus.”

Mr. Fahad A. Al-Sahali, Aramco Korea's Representative Director, said: “In the face of an unprecedented disruption caused by COVID-19 in Korea and around the globe, we are proud to stand together with Korea to face the challenge with a strong and united approach through the partnership with Hope Bridge. We believe it is important as members of our community to join forces and support each other during difficult times so that individuals and communities emerge stronger. To Aramco Korea, Citizenship is a core value and the safety and wellbeing of our neighbors and communities is a priority.”

Aramco Korea (or Aramco Asia Korea Ltd.), is a fully-owned subsidiary of Aramco. Hope Bridge is Korea's only relief organization designated to raise and distribute donations in times of crisis and disasters.

Aramco Korea's support for Hope Bridge is part of Aramco's global response to combat the spread of COVID-19. Aramco's response to COVID-19 has spread far beyond the borders of Saudi Arabia, as the company contributed around USD 6.7 million to support healthcare and disaster relief organizations around the globe.

The company's efforts resonate throughout Asia with contributions to the Red Cross Society in China, Japan and India, and to Malaysia's National Disaster Management Agency.

In June, Aramco Korea and Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association teamed up to volunteer to deliver hand sanitizers to Chungang Social Welfare Center in Seoul, Korea. The delivery was made as part of Aramco Korea’s KRW 1 billion contribution to Hope Bridge to support Korea COVID-19 relief efforts.
