Aramco Korea Representative Director Khalid A. Radi Named as an Honorary Citizen of Seoul for Contributions to Environmental Stewardship

Khalid A. Radi, Representative Director of Aramco Korea, receives the Honorary Citizenship of Seoul from Tae-kyoon Kim, Vice-Mayor 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, in recognition of Aramco’s sustained contributions to the environmental stewardship in the city of Seoul.
Aramco Asia Korea (hereinafter “Aramco Korea”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aramco, announced that Aramco Korea Representative Director Khalid A. Radi has been awarded Honorary Citizenship of Seoul in recognition of Aramco’s sustained contributions to environmental stewardship. The award was presented during an official ceremony held at Seoul City Hall.
This distinction marks the first time an Aramco Management member has received the Honorary Citizen of Seoul title, following Khalid A. Radi’s 2024 recognition as an Honorary Citizen of Ulsan for Aramco’s contributions to youth support and child safety initiatives.
The distinction is granted to select individuals who have made a long-term and meaningful contribution to Seoul’s development and public well-being. The recognition also reflects Aramco Korea’s sustained collaboration with the city’s environmental priorities.
A key part of this collaboration includes Aramco Korea’s role in leading the Multi-use Plastic Food Tray Program, developed in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Korea’s three Seoul-based professional baseball teams. Since the program’s launch early this year, 150,000 reusable trays have been deployed across Jamsil Baseball Stadium and Gocheok Sky Dome, replacing traditional single-use containers at two of Korea’s most iconic sports venues.
In 2025 alone, an estimated 3.8 million baseball fans participated in the program, helping reduce more than 25 tons of single-use plastic waste. The project continues to serve as a practical model of multi-stakeholder cooperation and circular resource management in action.
Beyond environmental initiatives, Aramco Korea has expanded long-term community support through education programs such as the Seoul Learn X Aramco Coding School, which provides digital learning and skill-building opportunities for underprivileged youth.
Reflecting on the honor, Khalid A. Radi commented: “This recognition is deeply meaningful and represents more than an individual milestone — it reflects Aramco’s vision to build a more sustainable community. We are honored to play a role in this journey and look forward to expanding our partnership in the years ahead.”
Aramco Korea remains committed to supporting programs that contribute to environmental progress, youth empowerment, and a more sustainable future.
