Aramco Korea implements the Plastic Recycling Program to raise awareness of the citizens of Ulsan on the importance of responsible recycling and the sorting of plastic waste. In modern society, plastic has become an integral part of our daily lives, serving various purposes. The post-use phase of plastics is equally significant. We believe the key to control plastic waste is through responsible disposal, recovery, recycling, and repurposing of used plastic as part of the circular economy.
In collaboration with Ulsan City and the Ulsan Metropolitan Council on Social Welfare, the program aims to produce eco-friendly recycled chairs and benches by blending high-strength concrete with approximately 28 tons of collected plastic through plastic recycling campaigns. These recycled chairs and benches will be installed at 10 locations in Ulsan, including Taehwagang National Garden, to widely promote the advantages of recycling used plastic.
With the intention of making school journeys safer for children, Aramco supports Safer Routes to School program installing 30km speed limit displays and yellow carpets within school zone areas as well as deliver safety awareness campaigns for students on walking safety.
In collaboration with the government of Ulsan Metropolitan City, Ulsan Social Welfare Council, Ulsan Metropolitan Police, and Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education, we take action on our principle that we endeavor to positively contribute to society through enhancing safety or providing educational opportunities.
We believe social contributions focused on children, who are the leaders of our future, are among the most important and diverse forms of support we can provide in our communities.
We are planting Aramco Hope Trees, solar-powered streetlights, in communities. Aramco Hope Trees will transform small dark parks into safer communities where local residents can walk and mingle at night.
By assisting with the installation of solar power generation systems at local welfare facilities which face the heavy financial burden of electricity bills, we help the facilities ease their financial burden and provide the flexibility to expand their charity programs.
