Aramco Asia Korea Ltd. (Aramco Korea), an affiliate of Saudi Aramco, today extended its partnership with Community Chest of Korea (CCK) for the fifth year by offering merit-based scholarships for university students with disabilities who are majoring in science, engineering, and technology.

The scholarships are included in Aramco Korea's corporate citizenship programs for the local communities where the company operates.

At the scholarship unveiling ceremony at CCK's headquarters in Seoul, Fahad A. Al-Sahali, representative director of Aramco Korea, remarked, “We hope the scholarship will serve as a step forward for the students as they attain their full potential. We will continue to fulfill our citizenship initiatives through a wide range of programs that aim to accelerate human potential in our communities.” The ceremony was also attended by CCK Chairman Dr. Jong-suk Ye and CCK's Social Contribution Center general manager Ju-hyun Kang.

The scholarship program for university students, with a certain level of academic achievement, is designed to help students with disabilities achieve their academic goals. Since its launch in 2014, a total of 163 students from 37 universities in Korea have benefited from the merit-based scholarship program.

Dr. Ye conveyed his gratitude for Aramco Korea's 5-year-long commitment by saying “I would like to express appreciation for Aramco Korea's unwavering support. We will make sure that Aramco Korea's scholarship program will be used to help talented students with disabilities realize their dreams.”

Since its establishment in 2012, Aramco Korea has been active in implementing its citizenship initiatives to make a positive impact on local communities with a broad range of programs, including installing solar power generation systems at welfare facilities and supporting health awareness and safety programs for children. Aramco Korea's multiple years of community outreach efforts were recognized with the award of the Welfare Prize at the 5th National Sharing Grand Award.
