Aramco Korea acquires ISO 22301 certification for Business Continuity Management System

Aramco Korea, a fully-owned subsidiary of Aramco, today received the ISO 22301 Certification for Business Continuity Management from British Standards Institution (BSI).

ISO 22301 provides a business continuity framework to enable the accredited organizations to secure capabilities to recover its key business functions as soon as practicable according to established emergency response and business recovery procedures when its business operation is disrupted by external events including natural disasters, fires or terror attacks.

Aramco Korea becomes the first company not only among oil and energy companies in Korea but also among Aramco Group and the offices in Aramco Asia that receives the ISO 22301 certification. The recognition reflects Aramco Korea's distinguished crisis response capability as part of a leading global energy company recognized by its stakeholders and customers from home and abroad.

The certification award ceremony held today at Aramco Korea's office in Seoul was attended by Mr. Anwar A. Al-Hejazi, President of Aramco Asia; Mr. Mutib A. Al-Harbi, Representative Director of Aramco Korea; Mr. Seong-hwan Lim, COO of BSI Group Korea; Mr. Myung-keun Yu, Operation Director of BSI Group Korea. The certification was awarded to Aramco Korea by the UK-based British Standards Institute Group, the world's largest certification body.

Mr. Anwar A. Al-Hejazi, President of Aramco Asia, who joined the ceremony virtually said: “For us as a leading global energy and chemicals company, the Business Continuity Management System is an essential framework supporting us to enable the sustainable delivery of quality services and products to our valued partners and customers around the world. Achieving the certification for Business Continuity is a testament of Aramco Korea's strength and resilience to withstand any threats and risks. The ISO 22301 certification shows our pledge to all stakeholders that we will implement and maintain effective measures for continuity of our business operations despite any other disruptive incidents.”

Mr. Mutib A. Al-Harbi, Representative Director of Aramco Korea, added: “We are proud that Aramco Korea becomes the first company among Aramco Group and Aramco's offices in Asia that receives the ISO 22301 certification.
