Aramco Korea unveiled 53 recycled benches, outdoor tables, and sunbeds recently at Taehwagang National Garden — one of Korea's two national gardens, which attracts 5 million visitors annually.

The “Plastic Recycling Program” aims to raise awareness about the importance of repurposing waste plastic.

The program is one of Aramco Korea’s corporate global citizenship initiatives and promotes sustainable practices in Ulsan, an industrial hub and home to Aramco affiliate S-OIL. The furniture has been produced from 28 tons of plastic waste collected by Ulsan citizens, combined with high-strength concrete.

The unveiling ceremony was a highlight of the Taehwagang National Garden Spring Flower Festival — one of Ulsan's largest annual events — and showcased the positive impact of the program on the local community. It was attended by key local stakeholders including: Doo-gyeom Kim, Ulsan Mayor; Sung-min Park, member of the National Assembly; Ki-hwan Kim, chairman of the Ulsan Metropolitan Council; and Yoon-chul Lee, from Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Khalid A Radi, representative director (A) of Aramco Asia Korea.

"Today marks a milestone where our commitment materializes in the form of recycled benches and chairs, crafted from recycled plastic. We trust that these benches will remind Ulsan’s residents of the tangible impacts of recycling and inspire continued community involvement in our sustainability efforts."
