*This job is fixed term employment starting with 1 year contract and can be extended up to 2 years.

Requirement / Qualifications

Academic/ Professional Qualification      

  •  Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering preferred advanced degree.  

Technical Skills Required

  • Familiar with common project design phases and activities for mega projects and stages such as BEP, FEED and EPC
  • Experienced on technologies, regulations, and other factors that may affect business model. Preferably, knowledge of SA standards.
  • Experienced in pre-commissioning and commissioning instructions and procedures in consultation with licensors, EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Experienced in polymers handling and logistics/supply chain
  • Strong experience in integration strategies, competitiveness, and benchmarking. 
  • Technical support to the operating team for the safe and efficient operation of the Polyolefins complex.
  • Optimization experience for plant operations to enhance productivity and reliability. 

Experience

  • At least 20 years of experience with a focus in the Petrochemicals specifically in the engineering design or operation of polymer plants.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Plant Supt. Role (operation) in Petrochemicals plant/project.
  • Preferably, experience in one or more of the following plants: LLDPE C4 / LLDPE Metallocene –/ HDPE Bi-Modal C4 / HDPE Bi-Modal C6
  • Preferably, experience in Saudi Aramco projects , SABIC projects or other Petchem projects in the Arabian Gulf region. 

Personality

  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting abilities toward technical challenges.
  • Ability to work simultaneously for multiple projects and clients involving varied technical challenges.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at all levels to discuss issues and resolve problems.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally to attended meeting or support projects reviews for short period.
  • Team player with positive attitude and willingness to teach others acquired knowledge.
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Able to develop competitive benchmarking and/or technical studies.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert engineering consulting to petrochemicals project organizations and develop and maintain design best practices to enhance project profitability, safety and productivity.
  • Develops and maintains Engineering Standards and Design Best Practices to enhance project profitability, safety and productivity.
  • Review of engineering documents from licensors and contractors during the pre-FEED, FEED and EPC phases of the project.
  • Develop petrochemical unit’s Flawless project delivery, start up, Operation philosophy, and operation general instruction. 
  • Develop and work on pre-commissioning and commissioning instructions and procedures in consultation with licensors, EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Provide technical support for petrochemical units particularly for the polymers complex’s operation readiness, pre-commissioning, commissioning, safe and efficient operation.
  • Optimize the plant operations for enhanced productivity and reliability. 
  • Participate in petrochemical unit’s process optimization and synergy within the project and between other petrochemicals facilitates.
  • Review and update petrochemicals unit’s, redline drawings and respond to inquiries
  • Provide technical input to LP and economics modeling and capital efficiency.
  • Participate in effective project execution strategies.
  • Ensure scope, risk and interfaces are captured, manage Interfaces between internal and external parties.
