*This job is fixed term employment starting with 1 year contract and can be extended up to 2 years.

Requirement / Qualifications

Academic/ Professional Qualification      

  •  Bachelor’s degree in chemical/process engineering. 

Technical Skills Required

  • Familiar with common project design phases and activities for mega projects and stages such as BEP, FEED and EPC
  • Knowledge on technologies, regulations, and other factors that may affect business model. Preferably, knowledge of SA standards.
  • Knowledge in pre-commissioning and commissioning instructions and procedures in consultation with licensors, EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Preferably, knowledge in carbon capture processes.
  • Preferably, knowledge and familiarization with SEEK requirement in Saudi Arabia. 

Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience with a focus in the utilities, specifically in the engineering design or operation of a utilities and offsite such as steam and power generation, CoGen, wastewater treatment, cooling water systems, flare, ASU and other.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Lead engineer or Plant Supt. Role
  • Preferably, experience in Saudi Aramco projects, SABIC projects or other Petchem projects in the Arabian Gulf region. 

Personality

  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting abilities toward technical challenges.
  • Ability to work simultaneously for multiple projects and clients involving varied technical challenges.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate at all levels to discuss issues and resolve problems.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally to attended meeting or support projects reviews for short period.
  • Team player with positive attitude and willingness to teach others acquired knowledge.
  • Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skill.
  • Able to develop competitive benchmarking and/or technical studies.
  • Multi-disciplinary task oriented to handle various project activities.
  • Fluent in English   

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set and verify strategies of the utilities and offsite for the project. Including, Steam and power generation, CoGen, Wastewater treatment, cooling water systems, flare and other.
  • Review of engineering documents from licensors and contractors during the pre-FEED, FEED and EPC phases of the project.
  • Develop petrochemical unit’s Flawless project delivery, start up, Operation philosophy, operation general instruction, and energy intensity calculation. 
  • Develop and work on pre-commissioning and commissioning instructions and procedures in consultation with licensors, EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Provide technical support for utilities and offsite units operation readiness, pre-commissioning, commissioning, safe and efficient operation.
  • Develop energy balances, efficiency calculation, Opex and requirements to fulfill the process demand.
  • Optimize utility productions for enhanced efficiency and reliability. 
  • Participate in optimization and synergy within the project and between other facilitates.
  • Review and update redline drawings and respond to inquiries.
  • Participate in effective project execution strategies.
  • Liaison between Project Management and technical disciplines to achieve integration across all project disciplines.
  • Ensure scope, risk and interfaces are captured, manage Interfaces between internal and external parties.
